Where DohoHub is today — and what comes next

DohoHub is running in beta. This page exists so nobody has to guess: what already works, what ships with the public launch, and exactly when paid verification, promotion slots and subscriptions go on sale. Listing a company is free today and stays free.

science DohoHub is in beta

Beta here is not a marketing word. It means the platform is complete in function but young in data: the monitoring, comparison and cabinet machinery is built and running, while the catalogue is still being filled company by company. Concretely:

Live numbers

Coverage today

These counters are read from the database when you load the page — not typed into a slide. Where a section is still being built, it says so instead of showing a zero.

The plan

Four phases, each with a gate

We publish gates, not dates. A gate is a condition that has to be true before the next phase starts — a date printed on a website only becomes proof of a missed deadline. Each phase below says what changes for you and what must happen first.

Phase 0

Beta — building the catalogue

We are here

The platform runs end to end: price monitoring, uptime probing, comparisons, the user account and the full provider cabinet. What's thin is coverage, so the work right now is data, not code.

  • Hosting providers added in waves, each with real plans, specs and a monitored pricing page
  • Domain registrars and per-TLD prices — checked against the registrar's own site before publishing
  • First comparison pages, deals, coupons and price-movement articles
  • Providers can already claim their company, edit their profile and see their referral traffic
  • All payments off. Nothing on the site can take money

Gate Enough depth that a visitor arriving on any section finds a usable answer, not an empty page.

Phase 1

Public launch — the site opens

Next

The pre-launch gate comes down and the full site is public: catalogue, server finder, domains and registrars, comparisons, news and deals, the developer API. Still nothing to pay for.

  • Every public section carries real data; the search engines get a complete sitemap
  • Provider cabinets open to everyone who has claimed a company
  • Verification requests can be submitted and reviewed — but not purchased
  • Price alerts, favourites and the free API tier work for everyone

Gate Full acceptance pass — every page checked on desktop and mobile in both themes, performance and SEO within thresholds, a security review, and a verified off-site backup.

Phase 2

Paid services switch on

Then

Payments are enabled site-wide in one step, and everything that costs money starts at once: provider verification, the seven promotion slots, and the Pro and API subscriptions for users. This deliberately comes several weeks after the launch, not on launch day.

  • Provider verification — $19/mo or $149/yr, with the public certificate and embeddable badge
  • Promotion slots — 7 placements, $3–$15/day, each labelled «Sponsored»
  • Pro $9/mo (unlimited alerts, 365-day price history, webhooks, ad-free) and API $29/mo (10,000 requests/day)
  • Founding Provider — a discounted first year for the companies who joined during beta

Gate A registered operating entity with completed payment-processor verification — and enough live traffic that we can show a provider their real referral numbers before asking them to pay for visibility. Selling exposure to an audience that doesn't exist yet is how catalogues burn the trust of the very companies they need.

Phase 3

Depth — proof behind the badge

Later

Once verification is a real product, it gets real substance instead of a second colour of badge.

  • Public uptime pages with 30/90-day figures, an incident log and a published measurement methodology
  • Verified Pro — a higher level built on that uptime record (it will not exist before the methodology is published)
  • Card impressions in the cabinet, so «views» is a measured number, not an estimate
  • Bundles — verification plus a promotion slot in one order
  • Semi-automatic refresh of domain prices, and an AI assistant for plain-language search

Gate Each item ships only when it can be measured honestly. No uptime page without a written method; no impression count without an actual counter.

Phase 4

On demand — only if it's asked for

Later

These are designed but intentionally unbuilt. They ship when providers actually ask, or when the data behind them is strong enough to be worth money.

  • Fast-track review — a paid express slot for verification
  • Category badges and registrar verification
  • Provider API — programmatic access to your own stats, plans and reviews
  • Market intelligence — price-trend reports, gated on at least 3 months of history and 50+ tracked providers

Gate Real demand, plus enough history that a report says something a spreadsheet couldn't.

What you get, and when

Being listed costs nothing and always will. Everything below marked as paid is optional, and none of it moves your position in the rankings — see how we make money.

What money never buys here

A roadmap is only worth reading if it also says what won't happen. These are limits on the products above, not aspirations — they're built into how the code works.

do_not_disturb_on

A ranking position

Verification and promotion never reorder the organic list. A paid slot adds a card marked «Sponsored»; the ranking underneath it is untouched. This was proposed as a feature and deliberately rejected.

do_not_disturb_on

A better score or rating

Scores come from data we measure and from community votes. Paying changes neither, and the verification page says so in the same words.

do_not_disturb_on

Control over reviews

A provider can invite customers and reply officially — publicly labelled as such. It cannot edit, hide or delete a review, and invited reviews are marked «Invited» and moderated like any other.

do_not_disturb_on

Your data, sold on

No ad networks, no third-party analytics, no cross-site tracking, no selling of personal data. Click and impression counting is cookie-free by design — the privacy policy spells out exactly what's stored.

do_not_disturb_on

An uptime figure that flatters

When a provider's firewall blocks our probe, we publish no number rather than a bad one. A single failed probe is never an outage. That rule costs us coverage and keeps the figure meaningful.

do_not_disturb_on

A paywall on what's free today

Browsing, comparing, alerts, favourites and a company listing stay free. Paid plans add depth — they don't fence off what already works.

FAQ

Questions we actually get

Can I be charged anything during beta?
No. Card processing is switched off across the entire site — there is no working checkout for a subscription, a badge or an ad slot. Where a paid section exists in a cabinet, it shows the plans and lets you submit a request, but it cannot take money.
I'm a hosting provider — what should I do now?
Get listed and claim your company. It's free, it takes one form, and it means your prices are monitored from a page you choose rather than guessed. From the cabinet you can already fix your profile, publish deals and news, answer reviews and watch how much traffic we send you. When verification goes on sale in Phase 2, you'll have real numbers in front of you to decide with — and beta-era companies get the Founding Provider discount. Start at Add your company or read For Providers.
Why not sell verification on launch day?
Because on launch day there is no audience to sell. Anything priced on visibility — a badge, a slot — is only worth buying once there's traffic behind it, and we'd rather show a provider their actual referral report than a projection. That's the whole reason Phase 2 sits weeks after Phase 1 instead of on top of it.
What exactly does the Verified badge get me?
A badge on your card and page, a public certificate page you can send your own customers to, and an embeddable badge for your site that stops claiming verification within the hour if it lapses. It does not move your position, your rating or your price — and the certificate page is deliberately able to say «not verified» rather than 404, so it stays worth checking.
Some sections look empty. Is the site broken?
No — it's beta and honest about it. Registrars, domain prices, news, deals and comparisons fill up in waves during Phase 0, and the coverage numbers at the top of this page are read live from the database, so you can watch them move. We'd rather show an empty section than pad it with data we haven't verified.
Is the API free?
No. Anonymous requests are rate-limited so the site's own pages work; real programmatic access is the API plan at $29/mo with 10,000 requests a day and CSV/JSON export. It goes on sale in Phase 2 along with everything else. Paid API access is one of the ways this project pays for itself, and we'd rather say that plainly than surprise you later.
Will prices change before Phase 2?
They might. What's in the table above is what the product is built to charge today. If a number changes before sales open, the table changes with it and the «last updated» date at the top moves — no quiet edits.
How will I know when a phase actually starts?
This page is updated first, with the date at the top. Newsletter subscribers get a note, and providers with a cabinet see it there. If you're waiting on something specific, tell us and we'll write to you when it lands.
Something here is wrong — a price, a spec, a listing.
Tell us which plan and where you saw it. A stale price is treated as a bug and usually fixed the same day; providers can point us at the exact element on their pricing page and we'll read it from there. And if you'd rather not be listed at all — ask, and we delist you. No retention flow.

Beta is the cheapest time to get in

Listing is free, nothing can charge you, and the companies who join now are the ones the Founding Provider offer is written for.

This roadmap describes intent, not a contract. Phases move when their gate moves; when that happens, this page is what changes.
