Cherry Servers switches on virtual dedicated servers in Stockholm
Three VDS tiers — Cloud, Premium and Performance — now deploy from a Swedish point of presence on Intel Gold, AMD EPYC or AMD Ryzen, billed hourly or monthly.
Cherry Servers has opened its Virtual Dedicated Server range at a new point of presence in Stockholm, giving the Lithuanian provider a Nordic location for customers who want guaranteed cores rather than shared ones.
Three tiers, three processors
- Cloud VDS — the balanced tier, aimed at websites, business applications and general-purpose workloads.
- Premium VDS — built on AMD EPYC, for enterprise applications that lean on CPU and memory.
- Performance VDS — built on AMD Ryzen, for compute-heavy work that wants the highest per-core speed available.
Depending on tier the machines run on Intel Gold, AMD EPYC or AMD Ryzen silicon. All of them come with dedicated CPU and RAM — the distinction that separates a VDS from an ordinary VPS — plus NVMe storage, hourly or monthly billing, 24/7 support and the usual automation surface: API, CLI, Terraform and Ansible.
No prices in the announcement
Worth stating plainly, because we would rather say so than round something up: the launch post does not publish per-tier pricing. It names the tiers, the processors and the billing options and stops there. Until the figures appear on the product pages there is nothing here for a price monitor to record, and any “from €X in Sweden” you read elsewhere this week did not come from this announcement.
Part of a wider build-out
Stockholm is not an isolated move. Two days later Cherry Servers announced it had connected to the BBIX internet exchange at its Tokyo point of presence, following earlier upgrades in Singapore — the same kind of latency work, aimed at Asia-Pacific instead of the Nordics.
For buyers the practical question is the ordinary one: a Swedish location matters if your users or your data-residency rules are Nordic, and matters very little otherwise. Cheap electricity and cool air have made the region a favourite for the power-hungry end of hosting, but the value of a PoP is still mostly measured in milliseconds to the people actually using it.
