About Spaceship
Spaceship is a domain registrar and web-services platform built by the team behind Namecheap. Spaceship, Inc. is an ICANN-accredited registrar (IANA ID 3862) based at 4600 East Washington Street in Phoenix, Arizona. The company says it has been serving customers since 2022; Namecheap announced the platform's public beta in August 2023, with founder and CEO Richard Kirkendall at its head, and in June 2024 Spaceship reported passing one million domains under management. Spaceship and its Unbox™ feature are trademarks of Namecheap, Inc.
Domains are the core of the platform: around 500 extensions, each with its own registration, renewal and transfer price, free WHOIS privacy through Withheld for Privacy on nearly all of them, DNSSEC, custom nameservers, premium domains and SellerHub, a marketplace for listing and selling your own names. A transfer costs one year of renewal, and that year is added to the existing registration. Spaceship lists domain prices without ICANN's $0.20 annual fee, which it adds at checkout on generic extensions such as .com, .net and .org.
Around the domains sits a full hosting line-up:
- Web Hosting — cPanel plans (Essential, Pro, Supreme) on LiteSpeed with NVMe storage, unmetered bandwidth, Imunify360 and free Spacemail mailboxes for the first year, in US, UK, EU or Singapore data centers.

Spaceship's pitch is simplicity: Unbox™ connects a domain to the hosting or email bought with it without manual DNS work, and most products start with a free trial and a discounted first billing cycle. That keeps entry prices low, but renewals are higher, and for hosting the 30-day money-back guarantee covers only first-time purchases made without a trial.

Around 500 extensions come with published registration, renewal and transfer prices, WHOIS privacy is free on nearly all of them, and the account side is modern: DNSSEC, passkeys, a marketplace for your own names and Unbox™, which wires domains to hosting and email without touching DNS. Watch the small print every registrar has — first-year promos on new extensions, and the $0.20 ICANN fee added at checkout.
On hosting it is a capable, low-priced all-rounder from the Namecheap stable: cPanel Web Hosting on LiteSpeed in four regions, managed WordPress on EasyWP, and hourly or prepaid AMD EPYC VPS with volumes, load balancers and a container platform around them. The catch is the trial-and-promo model — first billing cycles are cheap, renewals are not, and trial-based hosting sits outside the 30-day money-back guarantee — so compare the renewal price, not the headline, before committing to a long term.

How much does a .com domain cost at Spaceship?expand_more
When we checked in September 2026, a new .com cost $8.88 for the first year, $9.98 a year to renew and $9.48 to transfer in (a transfer includes a one-year renewal). Spaceship lists prices without ICANN's mandatory $0.20 annual fee, which it adds at checkout on .com and other generic extensions. Registrations run from 1 to 10 years. Is WHOIS privacy free at Spaceship?expand_more
Yes, for nearly all extensions. Spaceship adds privacy protection from Withheld for Privacy automatically when you register a domain, and on eligible transfers, free for life. Public WHOIS lookups then show redacted, anonymized data instead of your name, address and contact details.
How do domain transfers to Spaceship work?expand_more
You pay for one year of renewal, and that year is added to the domain's current expiration date, so no registration time is lost. Get the authorization (EPP) code from your current registrar, remove the registrar lock if it is set, then start the transfer at Spaceship and enter the code. Spaceship says transfers normally complete in about 30 minutes and take no longer than five days, and free privacy protection applies to eligible transferred domains. Some extensions, such as .co.uk and .uk, carry no transfer fee.

EasyWP is Spaceship's managed cloud hosting for WordPress: one WordPress site per plan, a custom dashboard instead of cPanel, three caching layers (PHP OPcache, object cache and response cache), SFTP and database access, free SSL and the HackGuardian and MalwareGuardian security tools. Starter has 10 GB of NVMe storage for about 50,000 monthly visits, Turbo 50 GB for 200,000 and Supersonic 100 GB for 500,000. In September 2026 monthly billing was $5.88, $9.88 and $12.88 for the first month after a 30-day trial, renewing at $9.88, $18.88 and $26.88; yearly billing was $28.88, $36.88 and $48.88 for the first year, renewing at $68.88, $114.88 and $138.88. EasyWP runs in a US data center.
What VPS plans does Spaceship offer?expand_more
Nine KVM virtual machines on AMD EPYC 7742 processors with DDR4 ECC memory and NVMe storage, in Phoenix (US) or Singapore: Standard (1–8 cores, 2–16 GB of RAM), CPU-optimized (2–8 cores) and Memory-optimized (2–4 cores with 8–16 GB). The smallest, Standard 1 — 1 core, 2 GB of RAM, 25 GB of NVMe storage and 1 TB of transfer — cost $0.007 an hour, about $4.90 a month, in September 2026. Each VM has a port of up to 1 Gbps, and Spaceship says it applies no traffic shaping by default. Optional bundles install n8n, OpenClaw, Claude Code, Codex CLI, an MCP server, CyberPanel or cPanel (licence bought separately) when the VM is deployed.
Pay-as-you-go or prepaid VPS billing — what is the difference?expand_more
Pay-as-you-go bills every hour a VM exists — running or switched off — at the end of the month, and terminating the VM stops the charges. Prepaid charges a fixed price up front for a month, a quarter or a year; for Standard 1 that was $4.90, $13.88 or $42.44 in September 2026, so the yearly term works out at about $3.54 a month. Prepaid Spaceship Cloud services are non-refundable, except first-time non-trial purchases covered by the 30-day money-back guarantee.
Can I send email from a Spaceship VPS?expand_more
Outbound SMTP port 25 is closed by default. You can use a relay on another port, a third-party sending service or Spacemail — or buy Mail Bridge ($5 a month in September 2026), which opens port 25 on one VM, lets you set a PTR record and gives the VM a reputation-verified IP. Mail Bridge does not include mailboxes or a managed mail server: you install and secure your own mail software and DNS records (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
What is Hyperlift and how much does it cost?expand_more
Hyperlift deploys containerized apps from a GitHub repository: you point it at a Dockerfile, and it builds and deploys the app and redeploys on every push, with SSL, logs and metrics included. Sizes run from Micro (0.25 vCPU, 0.5 GB of RAM) to Extra Large (4 vCPU, 8 GB); in September 2026 pay-as-you-go prices were $0.005 to $0.073 an hour — roughly $3.60 to $52.57 a month — with prepaid monthly, quarterly and yearly terms as well. An OpenClaw AI-assistant template can be installed on Medium plans and above.
How much does Spacemail cost?expand_more
In September 2026, on two-year billing (the default on Spaceship's page): Pro — 1 mailbox with 5 GB — $18.88 per two years; Business — 3 mailboxes with 10 GB each — $28.68 for the first two years, then $39.84; Advanced — 5 mailboxes with 15 GB each — $44.69, then $63.84. Monthly billing is $0.98, $2.88 and $3.88. Extra mailboxes and storage can be added to any plan. Web Hosting includes a Special Spacemail plan with 5 mailboxes per connected domain, free for the first year and $5.88 a year after that.
Does Spaceship offer a free trial or a money-back guarantee?expand_more
Most products start with a free trial — 30 days for Web Hosting, EasyWP, Spacemail, the CDN, FastVPN and Alf Website Studio, and 7 days for VPS Volumes, load balancers, Mail Bridge and AutoBackup. The refund policy offers a 30-day money-back guarantee only on first-time, non-trial purchases of Web Hosting and prepaid Spaceship Cloud products, and hosting renewals can be refunded within 48 hours. New domain registrations may be refunded within 5 days at Spaceship's discretion, and renewals of extensions such as .ai, .ca, .eu and .gg cannot be cancelled. Spacemail can be refunded within 30 days of a first purchase, and payments made in cryptocurrency are not refundable.
Which payment methods does Spaceship accept?expand_more

Spaceship's legal pages give a 99.99% monthly uptime guarantee for all Web Hosting plans and all EasyWP plans. For EasyWP the remedy is a free extension of the service — one day for each hour of unscheduled downtime, up to one month — claimed through support within 10 days; for Web Hosting remedies are at Spaceship's discretion.
